Questions and Answers Regarding RDC's 2022 Season.

Q&A Regarding 2022 Reservations

Will Camp be operating at full capacity?
Yes!

What are the dates of RDC's 2022 season?
At this time, our season will run from June 1 through September 5, Labor Day weekend. We are actively searching for additional employees to join our team to extend guest reservations and our groups and conference season through September 18.

How will reservations be booked this year?
When reservation booking begins on February 15, they will be made in the following order:

  1. All "priority" guests.
  2. Guests with the most "seniority credit," to guests with the least seniority credit. (Additional credit is given to guests requesting two or more consecutive weeks in the same accommodation.)

Once your reservation is booked, an offer letter will be sent requesting a 20% deposit. If we receive your deposit within 30 days from the date of the offer letter, your reservation will be confirmed. If the accommodation requested is unavailable and no alternatives exist, you may be put on the waiting list. Please make sure to provide us with current phone numbers and email addresses.

How will seniority points and priorities be handled this year?
Seniority points were not awarded, and priorities were neither lost nor gained in 2021. For 2022, we will return to our historical seniority and priority system. See The Reservation Process for more information.

Do I need to send a new Reservation Request Form even if I left my deposit with RDC in 2020?
Yes! To give yourself the best opportunity to receive the cottage of your choice, send in your reservation request form as soon as possible.

What are my options if I am unable to come in 2022 and left my deposit in 2020?
We will be happy to hold your deposit for a future reservation, or you may request a refund by filling out the Refund Deposit Form.

Are we offering any discounts this year?
We will not be offering any discounts for the 2022 season.

How will Greenwood Lodge & Long House be reserved this year?
We will again rent both lodges, in their entirety, at a weekly 12-person rate per week for our 2022 season. These buildings will be exclusive to the families that have reserved them for the week. At this time, Rock Office rooms will not be offered as guest accommodations. Reservation requests for both lodges will be booked through the usual reservation process.

What is the cancellation policy for 2022?
The cancellation policy for 2022 is as follows:

  • Reservations canceled prior to May 15 will be refunded 50% of the deposit.
  • Reservations canceled after May 15 and prior to a month of expected arrival will lose the full 20% deposit.
  • Reservation canceled within one month of expected arrival will be responsible for 50% of the total bill if the resulting vacancy is not filled.
  • Reservations canceled within two weeks of expected arrival will be responsible for 100% of the total bill if the resulting vacancy is not filled.

Q&A Regarding the 2022 Season

What changes will there be in the Camp Office?
The office staff will be placing top priority on creating a safe and healthy environment for everyone. We ask that only the Point Person for each cottage enter the office to check-in and check-out. Your Point Person may pick up your bill after 4 p.m. on the day before your departure.

What will be the dining room experience?
Both Rockywold and Deephaven dining rooms will be open, offering traditional seating with an extended serving time for each meal. In addition, take-out containers will be available for those wishing to enjoy their meals outside the dining room. We encourage anyone of high risk to arrive during the beginning of each meal hour where there may be less traffic.

What changes will there be in Housekeeping & Outside Crew?
We will offer full daily housekeeping and outside crew services. If you prefer a lower-contact experience and would like to opt-out of any portion of these services, you may notify our office staff at any time.

What recreational activities will be offered?
We will continue to evaluate the activities RDC traditionally offers to its guests and determine their risk levels as they relate to the current safety and health guidelines. Our tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts will be available for family use, along with kayak tours, tie-dye, outdoor yoga, and a variety of evening presentations. Our Wee Camper program for 3–6-year-olds will return and be available Monday-Friday mornings.

What changes will there be regarding cottage maintenance?
We ask that you remain physically distanced from our maintenance staff during any repairs required during your stay.

What changes will there be at Zodiac and the Camp Store?

Zodiac (RDC's convenience store)
Zodiac will continue to offer sundries, snack items, fishing supplies, and café beverages. Hand sanitizers will be available at the entrance, masks or face coverings will be requested.

The Camp Store
The Store will be open for guests to purchase new and classic RDC apparel along with a variety of gift items, including custom glassware, blankets, and jewelry. Hand sanitizers will be available at each entrance, masks or face coverings will be requested. If you would like to purchase items through our online Camp Store during your stay, we would be happy to provide pick-up or cottage delivery.

What changes will there be regarding boat deliveries and boat gas?
Boat requests for weekly rentals made prior to your arrival will be delivered on Saturday. Please review your requests and make any changes at least 24-hours before your arrival. Same day boat requests during the week need to be placed by 4 p.m. Requests after 4 p.m. will be delivered the following morning.

Boat gas will be provided at the Rock Main Dock Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Q&A Regarding Safety

RDC has prided itself on maintaining its long-lived traditions for 124 years, and we understand the difficulty in adjusting to change in a place that is so familiar, but health and safety are our highest priorities. Therefore, we kindly ask that all our guests have patience and understanding in observing the new safety protocols at Camp and respect the health of our community.

Are daily visitors allowed this summer?
All our guests will be asked to comply with RDC's health and safety guidelines prior to their arrival. For this reason, we strongly discourage daily visitors for this summer. A daily visitor is anyone outside the family unit assigned to a cottage or accommodation.

Are masks required?
We ask all guests and staff to wear a mask or other face-covering in any public indoor spaces, regardless of vaccination status. Masks will be available upon request; however, we ask that guests bring a personal supply to last the duration of their stay.

What safety measures will be in place for our guests?

  • We strongly recommend that all our guests obtain the COVID-19 vaccine, booster, and a negative test before coming to Camp.
  • We are asking for a designated Cottage Point Person for each cottage. This will be used for communicating important information to guest families and contract tracing if needed.
  • We ask all guests to follow physical distancing and mask guidelines if interacting with individuals outside their family unit and in common areas.
  • All guests should practice excellent hand hygiene while at Camp. This is especially important before entering common areas or the dining rooms.
  • If you have been experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have been recently exposed, we ask that you postpone your visit.

What safety measures will be in place for our staff?

  • We will require a PCR test within 72 hours prior to arriving at Camp and a rapid test upon arrival.
  • All staff will wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working.
  • Department supervisors will conduct safety meetings weekly.
  • All food and beverage staff will follow Serv-Safe guidelines.
  • All staff will practice excellent hand hygiene while at Camp.

It is important that our guests and staff comply with these measures to ensure the highest safety standards for RDC and its community.

We will continue to keep guests updated through social media, RDC's website, and emails as we get closer to the opening of Camp. Please check periodically for updates.
