RDC Board Recommendation Form

RDC is an institution with many rich traditions but nonetheless recognizes that it must be prepared to adapt in order to thrive in a rapidly changing world. In evaluating candidates for the Board of Directors, the Nominating Committee looks for individuals who can combine a deep respect for the Camps' history with a fresh perspective on how we can meet new challenges and enhance our guests' experiences.

The Board has 10 members. We want our members to broadly reflect the diverse character of our community, with representation by men and women of varied ages, interests and skill sets. We look for people who normally visit the Camps in early, middle and late seasons, and welcome both "old timers" and relative newcomers. Directors receive modest compensation, including meal discounts during their visits to Camp.

The Board hires and supervises the Co-Managers, sets and monitors the annual budget, and approves capital projects. The Board meets in person twice a year, once at the Annual Meeting in mid-September and again in early December. We may also have conference call meetings throughout the year.

The Nominating Committee seeks candidates for membership who:

  • Love the Camps and who choose the RDC experience as guests (All directors are expected to spend at least one week a year at Camp during their tenure on the Board.)
  • Support the Camps' Statement of Purpose and hold stock in the Corporation
  • Work collaboratively and are collegial in their working styles
  • Have skills and experiences that are relevant to the operation of a business with a $4 million annual budget

If you believe you have these attributes, or know of someone who does, please complete the form below and be sure to include the contact information of the person you are recommending in the Recommendation text box.

First and Last

The next day we took a bag lunch to Loon Island. This trip was really special because we saw nesting eagles on Little Loon Island. We watched a loon diving for his lunch as well as hearing many birds.
